Tips

Send tips to the desk closest to the subject, or to tips@bankseason.com if you are not sure. The most useful message says what happened, roughly when, and what you have that supports it. A reporter will come back with questions before anything is written, and nothing you send is published without that conversation.

If being identified would put your job, your visa or your legal position at risk, do not use a work email address, a work device or a work network. Write from a personal account on a personal device, and say in your first message that you need to talk about protection before you say anything else. We can move the conversation to an encrypted messenger or to a postal exchange, we will agree the terms of attribution in writing before you tell us anything sensitive, and we will not name you to anyone outside the two reporters and one editor handling the story. We do not log IP addresses on the tips inbox and we delete source correspondence on a schedule agreed with you.

Corrections

Send the article URL and the specific claim you believe is wrong to corrections@bankseason.com. You do not need to be the subject of the story to file one. If we agree, the fix and a dated note go up the same day; if we disagree, you get a written explanation of why rather than silence.

Advertising and partnerships

Bank Season is published by Calder, which handles commercial sales through a team that sits outside the newsroom. Write to advertising@bankseason.com for the media kit, formats and rates. Commercial enquiries sent to an editorial address are forwarded and nothing more, and editorial staff are not told who is buying.

Careers and freelance

We hire reporters who can read a filing and editors who can argue with a reporter without winning by rank. Send a short note, a resume and three pieces you are proud of to careers@bankseason.com. Freelance pitches should include the story you want to write, who you would talk to, and what would have to be true for the piece to fall apart.

The morning brief

What moved overnight, on your screen before the open.

One email at 6:30am New York time. Rates, futures, the two stories that will set the tone, and nothing else. Free, and you can leave in a click.
